International women’s day

To mark International Women’s Day on March 8, Christina Hill, Cordic’s Fleet Partnerships Manager wrote this piece:

I entered the taxi industry by accident in 2007, and although I may have tried to leave once or twice, I was never able to. Once you're in, you're in! Over the years, I've worked for both fleets and SaaS companies that cater to our world, and in that time, I've seen incredible growth--new technology, evolving business models, and a stronger sense of collaboration across the industry.

With all this change, one thing that has stood out to me is the role of women in the industry and the journey we've been on.

I've been in rooms where I was the only woman more often than I have worked in teams where women were well represented. I've had moments where I felt valued and listened to, and others where I had to push harder to have my voice heard.

One of the things I love most about this industry is the people--the mentors, colleagues, and leaders who have supported me along the way, both men and women alike. I've been lucky to work alongside incredible professionals who recognize the value of diverse perspectives and the strength that comes from an inclusive environment.

The taxi and transport industry has made huge strides, but there's always room to grow. True inclusivity isn't just about numbers; it's about fostering a culture where everyone--regardless of gender--feels heard, supported, and given equal opportunities to succeed.

Diversity isn't just a goal; it's the key to future-proofing our industry. The world is changing, and so are the needs of passengers, fleets, and technology providers. By bringing in a wider range of voices and experiences, we ensure that our industry stays adaptable, competitive, and forward-thinking.

I wanted to share my story ahead of International Women's Day to celebrate the progress we've made, acknowledge the challenges we're still working through, and recognize the incredible women I have been fortunate enough to work with.

I love this industry. It has given me a career, friendships, and opportunities to grow--both personally and professionally. It supported me when Karhoo closed down and gave me a beautiful family at Cordic to be a part of. I want to see us all continue to thrive, embracing the voices and contributions of everyone who is passionate about making this industry the best it can be.

To everyone in taxis, transport, and tech: Let's keep this conversation going--because the more we work together, the stronger we become.
